Applications

What you use your model for

Quotes, service letters, technical reports, documentation: your material shows how you write and what structure your work needs.

  • Quotes

A quote in your structure, with your item names and your standard wording.

  • Service letters

A first reply to a fault report that follows your rules and asks for what your service team needs.

  • Technical reports

Notes become a report draft in your form, with your terms and inspection steps.

  • Documentation

Operating manuals, inspection instructions and maintenance plans in your structure, with your designations and notes.

Example from technical service

How you work with the model.

An employee gives the model a task in their own words. The model writes the draft in your structure. Your team adds the facts and approves.

  1. Your employee writes

A task in their own words, like a note to a colleague.

  2. The model delivers

A draft in your structure, with your terms and wording. Optionally combined with a RAG tool for current facts from your documents.

  3. Your team adds and checks

Facts, pricing and date. Then the document goes out.

Where the line runs

Looking something up is not the same as knowing how

A general model given passages from your documents can read. It cannot work the way your company works. We train the model.

  • RAG, document retrieval

    Answers questions

    • Passages on prices, deadlines, meeting records

    • Current as soon as the document is replaced

    • Only what is written in a document

    • Describes your interface

  • Your fine-tuned model

    Acts in situations

    • The usual handling of a case, without explanation

    • Ways of working that stay stable for years

    • Also cases that never came up before

    • Operates your interface: calls, order, special cases

The combination is the normal case: procedural knowledge in the model, changing facts in retrieval, both on your hardware. Your model: paid once, used without limit, the weights belong to you.

Frequently asked questions

Ownership and rights

Do I really own the model?

Yes. Upon full payment, all transferable rights to the fine-tuned model, including the model weights, pass to you irrevocably. We retain no rights of use, exploitation or recall. You receive the dataset and the model with the delivery, and we delete our copies afterwards. As proof you receive a certificate of ownership with a hash (SHA-256).

May I modify or resell the model?

Yes. You may use, modify, reproduce and commercially exploit it without limitation in time, territory or scope, including reselling it. You only need to observe the Apache 2.0 terms of the base model, essentially the licence notice; the licence text is included with the delivery.

Can I capitalise the model on my balance sheet?

The model becomes your property upon full payment and is in principle capable of being capitalised and depreciated as an intangible asset. What you recognise are the acquisition costs, that is the price you paid; the base model is licensed under Apache-2.0 and causes no separate cost. The certificate of ownership and the invoices serve as evidence. Please align the specific accounting treatment with your tax advisor.

What if IonKon ceases to exist one day?

Nothing changes for operation. Your model runs entirely locally on your own hardware, with no licence server or cloud account. Everything you need to operate it is in your building and belongs to you.

Data and privacy

What happens to my data?

Your documents are used exclusively to train your model and are stored in the EU or Switzerland. The processing takes place on a GPU instance provisioned solely for your order in the EU or Switzerland, run by our own software, without any external AI provider; you confirm the processing instruction when you order.

Is my data deleted after training?

Yes. As soon as you confirm via the link we send you that your model has been made available for download, we permanently delete uploaded documents, the training data derived from them and our copies of the model. Without confirmation we remind you twice; 30 days after provisioning we delete even without confirmation. We retain order and invoice data only within statutory retention periods.

Which file formats can I upload?

PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, emails (MSG, EML), EPUB, as well as text, Markdown, CSV and HTML files, bundled as a single ZIP file. Scanned PDFs and images are read by text recognition. Unusable files are skipped and logged; the order continues.

Ordering and provisioning

How does payment work?

You request a quote and accept it in your customer account. There is no deposit. Once processing of your data begins, we issue one advance invoice for the price in the quote; it is net and payable within 14 days. No further invoice follows.

How long does it take from order to provisioning?

Once your order is accepted and your data is uploaded, the pipeline starts automatically. For M, preparation, training and quality checks usually take just a few days, for L we expect around a week. Once your model is ready, you receive the activation code by email and can download it.

Do I need my own hardware?

Not necessarily. If you run the model yourself, you choose the hardware freely; as a guide we name compatible devices such as the NVIDIA DGX Spark or the DGX Station, and you load the model onto it using our program. Alternatively we plan and deliver the hardware to you ready-configured, from these systems to individually designed HPC GPU servers. This is offered as an individual quote; the options are described on the operation page.

Can IonKon supply the hardware?

Yes, on request. We deliver ready-configured NVIDIA systems such as the DGX Spark or the DGX Station, or plan an individually designed HPC GPU server. This is offered as an individual quote; details are under Operation.

Model and operation

Which base model is my model built on?

On open Qwen models under the Apache 2.0 licence: Qwen3.5-9B for size M, Qwen3.8-27B for size L. That is exactly why we can transfer all rights to the fine-tuned model to you; this is documented in the certificate of ownership, which names the base model.

Do I also need a RAG system, or is the fine-tuned model enough on its own?

Each solves a different task. Document retrieval (RAG) searches stored documents and keeps individual facts current, but knows neither your use case nor your company's way of working or language. Your fine-tuned model has learned exactly that. The right combination uses both: stable long-term knowledge in the model, maintainable factual knowledge in retrieval. AnythingLLM, the interface provided with your model, already includes document retrieval; you switch it on at no extra cost and manage your documents yourself.

Do I need IT expertise to set it up?

No special IT expertise is required. You download the setup program from our website, install it on your hardware and enter the activation code and your account details. The program checks the hardware, selects the appropriate path and sets up the model locally.

Can the model be updated later?

Yes. Your model keeps working without us; there is no technical dependency. As your body of knowledge grows, commission a further training and use our program to load the result onto your hardware again. With every model we hand over the dataset with a data sheet and the LoRA adapter for the current base model. The adapter is the file that carries your specialist knowledge; the dataset can also be used to fine-tune another model.

Will there be a later retraining with a newer base model?

We offer retraining on a new base model with your dataset as a service on request; we do not commit to a date. The dataset is in your hands and can also be used with common tools for another model.

Does my model quote current prices and stock levels?

Deliberately not. Your model learns your company's stable knowledge but does not assert day-to-day figures such as prices, discounts, stock levels or delivery times, because these change constantly. For such questions it answers helpfully and points to the reliable source, for example your current price list or your sales team. This keeps its answers correct even as figures change.

In which language does my model answer?

German and English by default. Every model is trained bilingually so that it answers requests in both languages in your company's style. The terminology and tone come from your documents.

Which work should your AI take on?

Describe the task and the documents you already have. We will discuss with you whether a model of your own fits and in which size.
